Whitelee Windfarm, the UK’s biggest, is well-known for its popularity with local walkers, runners and pet owners but now for the first time, it has become a gateway to the digital future.
The ScottishPower-owned site on the outskirts of Glasgow is playing host to Google’s Digital Garage this Friday (August 10), which offers a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the world of digital and learn new digital skills from Google’s expert coaches – all for free.
Digital-giants Google have opted to use the venue to attract enthusiasts to its #digitalbus tour between 9am and 4pm, Whitelee is cementing its reputation as the go-to event location on the outskirts of Glasgow.
The Google #digitalgarage bus is a free hub where people can learn how to harness the power of the internet to grow their business, protect their family, learn new skills and have fun online.
The Google team will host three workshops on the upper half of the bus which can be signed up for via the links below.
They will also have specialist digital experts on the lower half of the bus offering free advice on all things Digital for anyone wishing to drop-in.
There is plenty for kids to get involved in too, with a child friendly ScottishPower marquee, complete with food and drink, and digital experiences. Activities on the day include: design your own app; children and adults are invited to design their dream app, Virtual Reality experiences, Lego Scrums, Smart Home demonstrations, digital career information.
