Hi @LynnD, there can sometimes be a delay in the meter reader sending us the information through this is why you will have received a bill based on estimate. By updating your meter readings yourself on your online account this can help ensure you receive an accurate bill in future. Hi @LynnD i do apologise your readings weren't updated in time for you being billed. This was a genuine meter reader, however, in future if you do want to check if a meter reader is genuine, they should always carry an identification badge and you can contact our customer service team who can advise if they expected a meter reader to visit you.
