Hi, it's now April and I've just received a notice to say my Direct Debit needs to go up from May onwards. I was surprised as I monitor my consumption using a little spreadsheet where I record the readings I submit. Looking back at January's submissions I made a mistake with the electricity meter reading. Being (sometimes) dyslexic with numbers, in January I had enetered a reading that was 200 units more than the actual meter reading.
Even though it's now April, is there anything I can do to get a correction to my account after I had entered the reading incorrectly back in January?
Hello Andrew, it is a nuisance when that happens. You could telephone and explain giving a correct current reading. Or if you do not want to wait on the phone you could under report the next readings until you get back to the correct position. The number is 0800 027 0072.
