Meter Reader Password

posted by Rich77 | 3 months ago

I know that meter readers have to visit to check the readings. How do you set up a security password with Scottish Power to ensure that only authorised people are able to get in? Then can ask the meter reader for the password before letting them into the house

Re: Meter Reader Password

I don’t think a password facility exists. SP do not have their own meter readers they use Morrison Data Services who carry ID cards for security.  People are expected to read their own meters these days and to send in the readings by phone or online.  It is good practice to send in readings at least every other month. This avoids estimated bills.

@Rich77 It's part of the Priority Services package, though I don't know if it's still being used or what criteria someone has to fufill to qualify. The customer has to register. Here is a link, or just search 'Priority Service Register' on your online account.
