Meter reading query

posted by greenbrucelee | 2 months ago

Hello

I have an economy 7 single display electric meter. Contradictory to  all the info about meters my meter shows the day reading first and night second. Currently the day reading is 034811 and night as 116924. Am I correct in taking off the first digit when entering my meter reading?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Meter reading query

To enter meter readings you must fill all the spaces, use zeros in front if you do not have enough numbers.

Re: Meter reading query

Do not leave off numbers, if you only have 5 spaces and six numbers to use then you must phone in the readings

Re: Meter reading query

Hi Dave it's the other way around. The Scottish power website has less spaces for the numbers whilst my meter has more. The meter does not show any decimal points

Re: Meter reading query

Telephone the correct reading to 0800 027 0072, and explain your online account gives only 5 digits. I think SP can change your account to show 6 digits. If you have left off the first '1' then your reading will be 100000 too low and you will get very strange bills.
