Reducing Direct Debit

posted by Buckeye | A week ago

I put in my meter readings and tried to reduce my Direct Debit from £124 to £100.

They would only reduce it to £105 ...AND....wanted to charge me £50 for the privelege.

Come back Robin Hood.

Absolutely disgusting way to treat 72 year olds.

Will probably freeze or starve to death this winter.

Re: Reducing Direct Debit

@Buckeye    You need the credit in your account to carry you through the winter months. Everyone goes into the autumn with a credit balance, that is the way direct debits work.

Yes |I agree. But is the "one off payment" a charge or is it credited to your account?

Re: Reducing Direct Debit

@DeniseC   It is credited to your account to keep the DD calculation in balance during the winter.
