Renewable energy and tariffs

posted by kash | A year ago
Hi if Scottish power only use renewable energy why would I fix my tariffs to protect me against price rises? Logically the sun and wind don’t cost so as the investment of wind farms and solar power is paid back surely prices should get cheaper ? Apologies if I’m being dumb

Re: Renewable energy and tariffs

Hi Kash, Yes haha good point. Actually SP buy in power to supplement wind resources and are part of the general fuel market which is driven by international oil prices.  SP have been a bit misleading with their advertising, they only generate green power, but they supply power from any source.
