Smart metre issues with commissioning

Apparently, Scottish Power can't receive my gas readings from my smart meter, I haven’t been provided with an IHD either. I was told the gas meter needed commissioning even though the house is a new build so should have been done by the engineer. SP can’t give me timescales for when I can get this sorted. Does anyone know if I leave and go to another supplier if this will speed up the process?

@Andddyyyyy    If the electric meter is sending readings  you can continue for a while by sending monthly gas readings manually.  It is more difficult to change suppliers these days, beware if your SP fixed deal has a big cancellation fee,   I would recommend Octopus who are good with technology and could probable quickly solve your issues.

I think my issue is hai useless the webchat team were. Just told me they couldn’t give me any sort of timeframe and basically just to lump it.
