Re: Tariff rate Super Saver April 2020 B3

Super Saver April 2020 B3 was available 8th to 18th February, from Moneysupermarket.com .

I tried to switch to it, even though I had just switched to Super Saver April 2020 B2.

Scottish Power call centre said I could, as I had a 14 days cooling off period, in any case, it's a switch from Scottish Power to Scottish Power, so it's not a problem..

Moneysupermarket.com kept saying the switch was going through, but Scottish Power said they have no record of the switch to B3. Thanks to my chasing, I am now on B3, just within the cooling off period.

For my post code, Super Saver April 2020 B3 is

Gas 3.096p Standing Charge 19.184p

Electricity 13.789p Standing Charge 19.184p

Fixed Until 30th April 2020

Compared to Super Saver April 2020 B2

Gas 3.340p Standing Charge 19.184p

Electricity 14.875p Standing Charge 19.184p

So, B3 did exist, but you have to go round the houses to get it.

I doubt I can get anything cheaper, so I'm fixed till April 2020, jolly good.

Re: Tariff rates

Hi Pincher, I noticed the Standard rate increase from 1/4/19, but SP are already advertising higher standard rates, I don't know what is going on.  Anyone on a fixed term tariff will be protected until their contract expires.

Re: Tariff rates

I am an ex extra energy customer and I have to say I had no problems with extra energy over the  possibly 5 years I was with them. I never had problems understanding their tariffs and had just picked a good fixed deal  for 2 years . Then disaster . Their website disappeared. No final bill . So much for paying by direct debit ....... very easy to increase the amount but not to decrease it. No wonder so many people where in credit.  Once you are in credit surely it should be law that you can decrease the amount of your direct debit to whatever you choose so that other energy companies cannot suddenly disappear with your large credit balance?

i also inherited economy 7 from the previous owner of my house. I have been paying Scottish power the basic economy 7 tariff since I left extra energy. In this time I have used energy less at night. I have been paying 8.23pence per kw/h off peak and 19.454 pence per kw/h peak. I have asked Scottish power in their on line communication to give me the equivalent single rate tariff so I can see if I have been overpaying . I have not been given the rate nor can I find it in the website! Is this top secret information ? Why can I not see in the Scottish Power website there basic rate single tariff for electricity? Please please can someone explain why this information is not clear

Re: Tariff rates

@anne15   In my Mersey area the best single rate is 17.308 p/ kWh and 19.18 p/day standing charge. These include 5% vat.   You can see this if you take ‘choose tariff details’

if you have storage heaters with your E7 tariff it will probably be cheaper for you to stay on a two rate system, you can calculate it by using the annual consumption figures on page 2 of your bill.
