Re: Why has Standing Charge cost more than doubled?

Hi DavC

The beneficiaries are the Left intelligentsia -- the elites generally. The anthropogenic climate change con is the apotheosis of the whole almost century-long gathering backlash against ordinary people en mass -- in what's dubbed 'identity politics' or (actually it's enforcement in terms of speech codes) 'PC' -- in revenge for us all not buying Marxist bull. The 'workers' of old have been retro-stereotyped as male, 'white' and heterosexual and rendered persona non grata.

It's imperative that this obscene extreme-beyond-all-extremes of evil political religion is opposed head-on and defeated, because on the horizon are mass 're-education' facilities -- already it's near-impossible to get work unless you actively accept the full range of idiot baloney about climate, the sexes, the races, etc. We're on a trajectory (as ever with Marxists) to recapitulating Lenin > Stalin ... Mao ... Pol Pot. It may already be too late to do this without full-blown civil war.

Have to aree with DaveC on this one. There is a definite link between CO2 and climate change. The Chancellor spent long enough talking about it yesterday. Green this and green that.

Re: Why has Standing Charge cost more than doubled?

@stevepm @Reading   This has been a good discussion and has come a long way from standing charges.  Thanks for your support Reading, and Steve good luck with your political views but they are unusual and not anything I can identify with. Political correctness is a pain, but generally it means tolerance of minorities and foreigners, and I don't see that as a bad thing.  😀😀

Re: Why has Standing Charge cost more than doubled?

Then you dont know or understand the origin, and devlopment of 'identity politcs'. See my article on it.. PC' / 'identity politics' has nothing at all do with being considerate to minorities. It is instead a complete pretence that there is such thing as ubiquitous sexism and racism in order to  maliciously attack those it obscenely portrays as perpetrators: the majority of rodinary folk. All the hatred is in fact perpetated by the politics of 'PC' / 'identity politics' itself.

Re: Why has Standing Charge cost more than doubled?

@stevepm   Steve,  I realise now that Identity Politics is a movement from the late 1970s in the US I read the Wiki article about it.  I do think of myself as quite aware of politics but this is all completely new and I had never heard of it before.   Anyway it's not for me, I am suspicious of conspiracy theories, the idea of a world group of intellectual socialists is ridiculous, it's impossible to get even a few of them to unite on a common policy.

Re: Why has Standing Charge cost more than doubled?

DavC. Dear oh dear. It is anything but a "conspiracy theory"; quite the opposite: it's lowest-common-denominator silly nastiness by self-unaware fools. It's the very well-documented history. Why not read up before commenting?!
