Just used my key for scottish power for the first time after changing from E.on. I had £33 on the meter but after entering my key from scottish power that had £10 on it the £33 disappeared leaving me with just the £10. Why and where did it go? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
When you use a new suppliers key for the first time, it will reset your meter in order to update the settings on this to reflect the change of supplier. This means that any credit that is on the meter will be cleared. The advice given to customers before using a new key is to run down any credit on the meter before using this. The £33 credit has been accumulated when your supply was with EON and this should be reflected in the final bill that you receive from them. I hope this answers your enquiry but if you do have any further questions, please do not hesitate to post them.
