I have a Honeywell AS302P Smart Meter which Scottish Power persuaded me to have installed. It is a meter with a display on the left hand side, and on the right there are two square grey buttons. The buttons are not marked in any way, i.e. A and B.
The electricity smart meter stopped working in April, and no readings are going back to Scottish Power. The In House Display does not work for electricity either. The Gas meter still works.
I need to submit a manual meter reading. After a lot of trouble I got the instructions. When I press the lower grey button, the display is illuminated. That works. However, when I press the top button nothing happens. I don't get the menu. When I look at the display on the meter, there is just something like "The Benefits of a Smart Meter" which just keep scrolling across. The grey buttons do not seem to work at all.
I have contacted SP, but they say becasue of Covid, they cannot send an engineer out. Has anyone else had this problem with this meter. To make matters worse, I am now switching to British Gas, but cannot give an actual elec meter reading. SP say they will have to estimate, and British Gas will have to fix the meter. Does this sound right? What if the estimate is way over?
Also smart meter stopped working 4 months after installation. I was told how to read the separate gas and electric meter readings manually and enter them via the Web site. A nuisance and defeats the purpose of smart meter. Told by Scottish Power that they are trying to fix remotely but Coviv excuses are are wearing a bit thin?
Ask customer service about how rto read the meters manually.
Smart meter stopped working 2 weeks after instualtion. informed SP and they said an engineer would be sent out before september 2020. That never happened. Now they send us emails asking for meter readings. Can only find day rate on electrcity meter so can't complete the form. I guess they will continue to increase our direct debit and only pay us back the money once each year. They once increased it to over £300 when our monthly usage was less than £100. I think its time to change provider.
